"I believe this council needs new ideas and approaches to tackle the politically corupt mess we have had in Cuyahoga County for some years.
Everyone in the area has heard of the FBI investigations and Indictments throughout the Cuyahoga county government.
Voters had enough and voted for a new form of management in the county, specifically the council, and the executive system.
I believe, the council needs people who understand how businesses function and can make large business decisions.
I am running because some of the business decisions are correcting efficiency deficiencies in how Cuyahoga County Government runs.
I have over 20 years experience of looking for and finding solutions to those types of efficiency issues, while keeping a watchful eye on spending.
Those are the same traits needed in a good council member, the ability to recognize waste, un-sound processes and contracts, and take actions to properly manage the public tax dollars.
That is how I plan to serve the people of Cuyahoga County."
What do you hope to accomplish if elected?
"There have been large diverse groups that have met to discuss the issues of transitioning from the 3 commissioner model to the Executive and council model of government.
They have made some great observations and suggestions for changes.
The County government has an annual budget of $1.5 Billion and employees over 8,000 people.
Studies have suggested inefficiencies may account for up to $50 Million wasted.
I would want to see many of their suggestions to eliminate inefficiencies implemented.
I want to help firm up exactly how the new council is going to work for the benefit of Cuyahoga County.
We have some bumps ahead of us as we make this change, my background in business and change management can bring a critical eye to suggesting and implementing changes to the way our county government operates.
Transparency and Inclusion
I want to be a contributor to making this new government work and to bring back trust in Cuyahoga County Government through inclusion.
I believe we can do that by increasing transparency in how decisions are made and by getting more closely involved with the community.
I think a wise decision was made when the Council was formed from smaller segments of Cuyahoga county suburbs and Cleveland wards each represented on the council.
The old 3-commissioner system could never achieve that close community tie that this should create.
GREAT for your Business and Great Place to Live
I want to help Cuyahoga County be seen once again by the residents and others outside the county as a vital thriving place to live and have your business.
We have spent so much time in Cuyahoga County hearing how bad it is we have stopped seeing how good it is.
Many do not realize we have one of the largest performing arts centers in the country in playhouse square.
I want to be part of the new council that makes everyone in Cuyahoga County and outside see how GREAT Cuyahoga County is.
How will you do that?
We will do that by first eliminating inefficiencies and the money we will save will allow us to launch some sound Economic development programs that will create jobs and bring other businesses into Cuyahoga County.
Those new businesses will in turn create opportunities that will create even more new jobs.
That is why I want to be part of this council.
